Facelifts correct the sagging skin in the cheek, jaw line, jowls, and neck. The "classic" facelift involves an incision in front and back of the ear on each side of the face. Excess skin is removed, and deeper tissues are lifted to a more youthful position.
The mini-facelift has become very popular in recent years with a younger patient population, generally in their mid 40's to late 50's, seeking a rejuvenated look, but not needing as aggressive of a procedure as the classic facelift. A more limited procedure is performed with a shorter scar that is hidden just around the ear.
Dr. Wilke is very experienced with these various techniques and will review the options and formulate a plan with you at your consultation.
