The body lift, also called circumferential body lift or belt lipectomy, is used in more extreme cases, such as with massive weight loss. It is similar to the tummy tuck noted above, but also involves removal of excess skin and fat extending around to the hips and lower back, and a more aggressive lift is performed, improving the contour of the buttocks and outer thighs. Recovery from the body lift may be slightly longer than the tummy tuck.
