Browlift

browlift « face « home

The brow lift corrects sagging and drooping in the forehead and brow, which causes a heaviness and hooding to the brow. It is frequently performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery. The “classic” brow lift involves an incision across the top of the scalp to lift the forehead and brow. Dr. Wilke often utilizes the more minimally-invasive technique of the endoscopic brow lift. With this technique, smaller incisions are placed behind the hairline, and the endoscope is used to assist with the lift.

Anesthesia

These procedures are typically performed as an outpatient in the on-site, fully accredited Edina Surgery Center. A light general anesthesia is often used for the larger procedures, in which case the patient sleeps through the entire procedure. For lesser procedures, local anesthesia with sedation is often used.

Recovery

Bruising and swelling is normal, and typically lasts for 1-2 weeks, although more prolonged bruising and swelling can occur. Pain is usually mild. Most people are essentially back to normal activities within 2-3 weeks.
