One of Dr. Wilke’s specialties is breast surgery. He has had exceptional training and years of experience with these procedures, and will work with you to carefully plan a procedure to realize your goals.

Anesthesia

These surgeries are typically performed under a light general anesthesia, so the patient sleeps through the procedure. They are performed as an outpatient in the on-site, fully accredited Edina Surgery Center.

Recovery

Moderate discomfort is typical for 2-3 days after the procedure. Most patients get around quite well after one week. It is recommended to avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for 3 weeks after the procedures. Some swelling is normal in the first few weeks, and if implants are placed, they often ride high on the breast until they settle after 6-8 weeks.
